NEONATAL
INTENSIVE NURSING Learn the intensive care team approach
in assessing and implementing care, monitoring, alleviating
pain, drug administration, maintaining respiration, providing
nutritional care, maintaining comfort and preventing infection.
Physiological principles are presented with practical applications
to clinical management. Of special interest are ethical-moral
issues in determining what care is in the best interest
for the infant, prevention of iatrogenic effects of treatment,
and family education. Also includes acid-base
homeostatis, fluids and electrolytes, neonatal development,
5 hrs. of breast feeding and grief and loss. Reference
