RURAL NURSING
Nearly 1/4 of America's population lives in rural areas. From a research perspective, this course presents a broad understanding of the characteristics of health care in rural settings and what is required for effective nursing practice. Concepts, findings, discussions, & implications for practice are highlighted for health care needs of the rural dweller, response to illness, the nature and scope of rural nursing, and special conditions as emergencies, environmental risk reduction, school health services and resources.
