Continuing Education: 30 Contact Hours
All contact hours may be obtained by Independent or Home Study methods.
20 Hours must be obtained through an approved provider.
No more than 10 Hours may be obtained through in-service by a licensed health care facility.

three activities each biennium:
30 contact hours of continuing education
30 contact hours of participation in professional activities
320 hours of employment.

The Alaska Board of Nursing accepts courses approved by the American Nurses Association. NURSING EDUCATION OF AMERICA®is Accredited as a Provider of Continuing Education in Nursing by the American Nurses' Credentialing Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
The ANCC is the credentialing division of the American Nurses Association.

Lapsed license. Could be found in violation of practicing without a license with citations imposed. The Board has the authority to revoke a license if the licensee obtains or attempts to obtain, by fraud or deceit, a license to practice nursing.
